Rules, rules, rules.
If you’ve ever lived in Singapore, you’d be familiar with its stressed population and reputation as a fine city. Break a rule, and you’re punished. Walk a little out of line? Here’s a hefty fine.
A concept born out of a warehouse in Portland, Splat Paint House presented itself as a different kind of fun when the idea was brought into Singapore — one that was fresh and unadulterated, compared to what we chastened Singaporeans were used to.
So we put on our protective wear and asked Splat Paint House: could they be the brief reprieve that Singapore needed?
Painting the town in every colour
Splat Paint House’s rules were simple: pick up a brush and do whatever you want. Or a squirt bottle if you’re up for it. Or a paint gun for the action-oriented. Then splash it on your canvas. Or your friend’s. Or the wall. Or even each other.
We conceptualised a photoshoot session that brought out the high-impact (read: stress relief) aspect of its sessions and ran ads targeted at Singaporeans in high-stress vocations including lawyers, policemen, and perhaps the hardest of them all: parents.
The results speak for themselves, with our ads reaching over 30,900 people and garnering 1,450 clicks on Facebook alone in a month — a whopping 4.69% click-through rate.
Who said Singapore had no place for no rules?
Rules, rules, rules.
